Costume and mask created for Exabrupto festilval. The theme was 'Violence' Un uso deliberado del poder - la opresión de la palabra es una forma de violencia. La máscara representa el concepto de violencia en ausencia de palabra. Está distorsionado de una manera que transmite inquietud, realizando su representación de la violencia dentro de un contexto no verbal. La grotesca criatura, adornada con un kimono blanco, evoca la esencia de antiguas figuras espirituales, guardianes que vigilan a aquellos que han soportado el silencio. Tevebe Live Immersió coralina amb Paola Idrontino La darrera artista en exposar en aquesta galeria tan singular és la italiana Paola Idrontino, que mostra la seva meravellosa escultura tèxtil ‘Evanescent’, una obra inspirada en l’oceà que parla de la decoloració del coral causada pel canvi climàtic. És una peça “extravagant, grotesca“, diu Idrontino, “com una criatura marina” que ha teixit a mà durant dos anys. Un collage de diferents teixits que “es va anar expandint fins a omplir una habitació sencera”.

Silence of Spring A showcase of Paola Idrontino's latest SS24 costume collection inspired by our floral world. Created in collaboration with choreographer Adelaida Henao Neumann, you will see our story told of seeds pushing through the earth, finding their way to bloom. The breath is at the heart, beginning and ending at zero, the origin and oblivion of silence, wherein we shall witness his conducting of rhythm for which all time is centered. Flowers form the bouquet of life, a dance that shall continue until our last breath. The darkness brings the light in bloom so we can see the colours of spring.
